"GURO Outfitters is a great company to hunt with. I hunted mule deer and Coues deer in Sonora with them in January 2024. All the staff were super friendly and knew their stuff. They picked us up in Tucson and had my firearm permit ready to go. Going through the border with my firearm, trophy, and meat coming back was seamless. No worries at all. Accommodations at the Ranch were comfortable and safe. The food was amazing. All the food was prepared by a gourmet chef who really enjoyed making great food. It was a very friendly environment.
I shot a beautiful Mule Deer buck, a 185-inch deer, on the first day. The rest of the time, the guide worked hard looking for a nice Coues deer. The bucks they found for me, I decided to turn down, hoping for a bigger one. They were nice Coues deer, and it was totally my decision to turn them down and ended up not finding the one I wanted. I was looking for a 105-inch plus deer. The guide continued to work hard looking for one to satisfy that, we just didn't find it on this hunt. I will be going back eventually for more Sonora deer hunting. We also saw many bighorn sheep. If you want a beautiful Desert Bighorn, this outfitter will definitely get you on the sheep.
I took my wife along with me and she enjoyed it very much. The hunt is plenty nice and comfortable for wives to come along. My wife is from Mexico originally, so she spoke fluently to everyone and really enjoyed the whole trip. No worries if you don't speak Spanish, though. The outfitter speaks English and supplies an interpreter along on the hunt to help with talking to the guides. The 2 owners of GURO are involved in the day-to-day operations and will more than likely be with you during the hunt as well."
